How Supplement Brands Are Celebrating Pride Month

Every June, people come together to celebrate Pride Month and stand in solidarity with the LGBTQIA+ community. Throughout the month, all sorts of events take place across the country—from memorials and panel conversations to parties and parades.

The Vitamin Shoppe is proud to partner with brands that take action to support the LGBTQIA+ community, during Pride Month and throughout the rest of the year. Here’s how a few of them are showing up for our LGBTQIA+ friends, family, neighbors, and coworkers.

Natreve

The company behind MOOLESS, a first-of-its-kind animal-free whey protein, Natreve announced a partnership with The Trevor Project in October of 2021. The Trevor Project provides vital support for LGBTQIA+ youth in a variety of ways, from 24/7 counseling to resources about a variety of topics (such as gender identity and mental health) to TrevorSpace, an international community that fosters peer support and friendships. Today, The Trevor Project is the largest suicide prevention and crisis intervention resource for LGBTQIA+ youth.

Natreve became a partner of The Trevor Project with a donation of $25,000. You can learn more about The Trevor Project’s important work—and their partnership with Natreve—in an interview with the organization’s Corporate Development Manager, Sofi Goode, published on Natreve’s website. The wellness brand will donate another $25,000 to The Trevor Project this June, in honor of Pride Month.

Vital Proteins

Vital Proteins has long been a leader in the world of all-things collagen—and they’ve put both their resources and their products to work for the LGBTQIA+ community. In 2021, Vital Proteins made a $15,000 donation to The Trevor Project. On their website, they’ve also rounded up eight vibrant recipes you can make with Vital Proteins collagen to get into the Pride Month spirit while nourishing your health.

EHP Labs

Sports nutrition giant EHP Labs shows up for Pride Month in a few ways. This year, in addition to donating $15,000 across two organizations (The Human Rights Campaign and Egale Canada), EHP is using its platforms to highlight LGBTQIA+ athletes and how they found love, inclusivity, acceptance, and equality without judgment in the fitness world. Be on the lookout for the brand’s athletes at your local The Vitamin Shoppe location!

Last year, The Vitamin Shoppe partnered with EHP Labs on its “Love Is Love, Love Is Wellness” campaign, and made a $25,000 joint donation to the HRC.

OLLY

In May of 2021, OLLY announced a partnership with The Jed Foundation, a non-profit dedicated to supporting the mental health of adolescents as they navigate self-identity, romantic relationships, and the transition into adulthood. Their aim: To help JED roll out mental and emotional health programs to underserved high schools across the country.

Throughout June, JED will be sharing mental health resources and amplifying the voices of the LGBTQIA+ community on their social channels, so check out their Instagram to learn more. (In their first Pride Month post, JED shares self-care tips for LGBTQIA+ young people, as well as suggestions for where they can find connection and community online.)

As this year’s Pride Month celebrations continue, check back here for more on how different brands are getting involved and showing their support.
